Can Riccia be planted (tied) on any surface or does rock work best? I was thinking of building a Riccia tunnel.

you could really attach it anything you heart desires as long as you use enough sting or mesh netting to hold it in place for the long run to keep it from floating away. I find that a few layers of hair netting works very well. Just remember to give it a "hair cut" evey now and then other wise it gets to thick and the bottom layers will start to die off letting it detach from the object you tied it to.
