Hi,
Im using a 55g tank, co2 injected 27 ppm, t5 HO 108 watts, dosing 5ml seachem flourish 2x per week, WC 50% weekly. My plant doesnt seen like i growing much, especially the micro sword it does grow at all may be going to die. Battling algae with 9 oto right now, but dont seen like winning. Im thinking that i would need to upgrade my lighting, is it good idea to upgrade it to 216 watts. If so does this light fixture be good: http://www.sunslighting.com/Suns-48-compact-fluorescent-dual-lighting-54W-4-p/t5-z-48.htm . Please i need some advice how to get it going, i would love my tank to look like mathman tank or at least make my plants grow. Thanks
PS i ordered Magnesium Sulfate, Plantex CSM + Boron, Potassium Nitrate, Potassium Sulfate and should get it tomorrow.

Hi Vietxlife,

I deleted your double post in Mathman's topic. This will keep all responses centered in this, your, topic.

The light you have is more than adequate. If you upgrade, the only thing you will get is more algae. In your case I'd start out with no more than 8 to 9 hours per day.

You should start to feed your plants, for which you need KNO3, KH2PO4, trace elements and CO2. You already bought some things so that's a good start.

In the meantime, I suggest you read, read and read more, like the basic EI article:

i have 2 marine land emperor 400 on my 55 g tank now, i thing this to filter create to much aeration so just order a ehiem 2073 to replace those filter. Is there a process to change out the old filter.
