Yeah I saw that, just the price difference is a bit steep between buying 2 9 liters and 6 3 liters lol. I can't justify doing it without trying to find a deal first lol.

Anyone have any unused Aquasoil they want to get rid of? Let me know!

Hi,

I have two cases of ADA amazonia NEW type that are currently unused..

I may be able to be talked into parting with a case as it is easier to ship as is and simply use new shipping labels...a case has three bags...so you would have more than you want/need...

I would just want what I paid for it as it is brand new plus shipping of course.

PM me and let me know.

Thanks for the lead, Left C. Their shipping rates are a little high due to my location. I'm hoping to find someone who can offer a better shipping rate. I do realize that this is shipping dead weight, so maybe I'm a little too optimistic. PM'd GerryD and hoping he'll sell the rest of his stock!

I agree. I thought that it was too high when I ordered my last batch from them. It shipped from CA to NC. Anyway, I have it now even if I had to pay a bit more for it.

If you do have to order from AFA, try the Multi-Type. It's nice! http://www.adana-usa.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_12_21&products_id=266

Maybe ADG will get some in before too long.

Wouldn't you have to pay for shipping the Amazonia twice if you get it from him? One time from where ever that Gerry got it to his home. Then from his home to yours. ???

ADA and AFG are close in price. For 3 9l bags (same amount Gerry has for sale), ADA is $122.42 shipped UPS Ground, and AFG is $117.06 shipped UPS Ground (of course, they don't have any in stock right now). I wish someone in town sold the stuff, but of course, they'd probably mark it up, negating any savings by purchasing local and not having it shipped. :)

I'd like to mention a name correction. Your abbreviations of the ADA dealer's company names, ADA and AFG, aren't quite right. I think that you are calling Aqua Forest Aquarium ADA and Aquarium Design Group AFG. They should be AFA and ADG respectfully.

AFA is Aqua Forest Aquarium in California and their website is: http://www.adana-usa.com/ They have Amazonia in stock. A new container came in recently.

ADG is Aquarium Design Group in Texas. Their website is: http://aquariumdesigngroup.com/# Amazonia has been out of stock there for a while.

When I used their shipping calculators for 3 9L bags of Aqua Soil to my address at zip code 27217 in NC, I get a $17 difference in the shipping costs. Both are via UPS Ground. I used 9L bags of New Amazonia Normal Type for the comparison.
UPS Ground Shipping to 27217
AFA - $43.81
ADG - $26.72
difference - $17.09

A while back, I remember someone at ADG saying that they were making the shipping costs for Aqua Soil as cheap as possible. It is too bad that they are out of stock.

Thanks, LeftC. I stand corrected. :) I probably just mistyped. There are simply WAY too many acronyms in my life... I can't keep them all straight. :D

Regarding shipping, I tend to look at total cost, not just shipping. In the end, it's all money out of my pocket! :)

I know exactly what you mean. I get confused with all these acronyms too.

Basically, ADG and AFA have the same list prices on all their ADA products because they are both ADA dealers.

I tend to look at the price of the products, the shipping cost and the total price. Too much free time, I suppose. :)

There is a penny difference in the price of 9L bags of Amazonia on their websites. So, this makes the price difference a total of $0.03 for the 3 bags. ADG is the cheaper place.

It is $27.99 at ADG and $28.00 at AFA.

Total Price of 3 9L bags of Amazonia with UPS Ground to 27217
AFA - $127.81 ($84.00 + $43.81)
ADG - $110.69 ($83.97 + $26.72)
difference - $17.12

You can see that this is $0.03 more.

Hi Left C,

The ADA has been at my home for months now...so only shipping from here to there would be required..

I didn't charge folks for the shipping to get it here in the first place which was considerable.

Wasn't their fault I purchased too much..

*****************

That being said......

I do NOT WANT to sell my remaining case, so please cease and desist on all PM :) I had two spare cases and sold one, but am holding on to the other one....Hope you all understand...
Later!
