    Thanks @Allwissend, I think you'd need a reef tank; the fungi perhaps bares a passing resemblance to soft coral :)

    Yeah, it seems unlikely a reef will happen any time soon, not with the current work load. I was thinking about it today, maybe patches of riccia or riccardia can be used on the stick. It the stick is large enough they could look similar. The stick would need to be rotated to allow this type of growth/ light access. Then spray with Excel to get the brown color ...:cool:
