I have many kinds of mosses and have great success. But Willow moss/Fontinalis antipyretica is very disappointing.
I have spread it in 4 diff.tanks with diff. water parameters but till date not able to make it thrive.
My Willow moss looks sad, the branches are always drooping and leaves are closed.

I tied it to a driftwood, stainless steel mesh, plastic mesh, stones of diff.kind with sewing thread/fishing string. Kept in tank with diff.substrates like JBLManado, Black sand, Fluval shrimp substrate, Brighwell Rio substrate.
I have tried to grow it in a tank with 100% RO+enriched with minerals, CO2, fertilizers, hi-lights.
Tried in tanks with 0.5 w/l, 60% RO, 80% RO and 100% tap water.
Used seachem and JBL fert's in diff. tanks to see a difference but nothing seems to work.

I had success even with Plagiomnium trichomanes moss and got it used to growing submerged totally but willow moss "I'm not able to understand what will make it happy and flourish in my aquarium"!!!

I don't disturb this moss at all, yet it seems sad and not growing as I expected.
My moss doesn't look beautiful like I see in the pictures on the net.

Where am I going wrong? I'm sure I'm missing something. I'm at my wits end.:dejection:
Experts please help.

Willow moss prefers cooler water than many plants that we use. 75 degrees or cooler is optimum, although it will grow at higher temperatures for a while.
