http://cgi.ebay.com/VICTOR-VTS-460A...519?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43a579e34f (used with acetylene, avoid imo)

http://cgi.ebay.com/Victor-VTS-400D...532?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a62cd10dc (has two high pressure gauges~ no good)

this is the one I like http://cgi.ebay.com/Victor-VTS-450-...686?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa9002826 (NICE)

http://cgi.ebay.com/VICTOR-SR250C-5...782?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0357de16 (single stage, don't buy)

http://cgi.ebay.com/VICTOR-INERT-GA...337?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53e596c6d9 (single stage, no "s250b" model number...looks like single stage from they way it is positioned. Don't buy).

http://cgi.ebay.com/VICTOR-REGULATOR-/160550724863?pt=BI_Welding_Supplies&hash=item256191a4ff (single stage and beat up. don't buy)

Ok got my beast in the mail the other day. Took it to my local welding supply shop to replace the CGA on it. The guy asked me how much working pressure I need out of it. I say very good question. So my question is how much working pressure do I need. I'm thinking about running one of those atomic diffusers from GLA and it requires 30 psi. My beast's working pressure starts at like 20 and goes to 200. So will someone tell me whats going on LOL. I'm lost without you guys.

Also forgot to ask. Does anyone know the pressure rating for the Ideal Needle Valve Part Number: V52-1-12? I don't want to get the new CGA on this beast and then open it up and it blow it out! It's a Victor VTS 450.

Sorry guys for all the individual questions but also do I need two of these Swagalok Part Number: B-2-HN? I noticed in GerryD's clone build that he had four. I know he bought two of everything since he has two of the same regs. If there is four there I'm assuming that I need two.

Swagelok and Ideal parts..

1. Hose barb fittings: Left is B-6MO-1-2 and Right is Swagelok 1/8" hex nipple (HN)Part Number: B-2-HN

See post #37 pic number 1 right hand side.

Try it at 30 psi. YOu can use virtually any psi working pressure you want.

The Ideal Valve V52-1-12 is rated at 3000 psi...LoL Doubt you'll have a problem with the needle valve...ever.
The VTS450 is a heavy duty regulator. You don't have to worry about blowing ANYTHING out. These parts will outlast us all.
Here are the specifics:

See post #37 pic number 1 right hand side.

If you want to run a female check valve, like Gerry does, (part number B-2c4-1/3), you have to get two B-2-HNs. If you want to run a male check valve (b-2c2-1/3), you will only need one. BUT you will need a female coupler to attach the tube adapter. See pics of my regs in this thread:

Here is a thread that lists the parts:

Thanks Matt. I will order parts this week and will take it to the shop to replace the CGA fitting. When this is being replaced, do they use teflon tape or something else?

Teflon tape is the best for parts that directly screw into the regulator. non-hardening thread sealer is good for post body builds.
I'd offer to take it off an install the new one for you, but why do that when you have a local shop?

Hey thanks for the offer! Its going to cost $20 for parts and the labor is free. I know that is a little more expensive than if I had bought it online and did it myself. The guy is going to let me watch and then we are going to check it. So I think its well worth the twenty!!! Since I can operate at 30 PSI or higher that was a huge relief. I don't have to worry about blowing out the reg. Thanks again as I will keep this thread updated.
