I was getting 500 gram and 2 kg jbl co2 bottles refilled via bottle exchanges at maidenhead aquatics at bold heath merseyside for 13 quid for the 500g and 22 quid for the 2kg bottle.

However, they had a new woman (manager I think) last time I went who insisted the 500 gram bottles should be £22 and the 2kg £30 needless to say I now am stuck with a jbl co2 set up and nowhere to refill them as I wont pay that sort of money for exchanges.

This is hampered by the fact I spent £100 on the 2kg bottle nice and new and shiny and received a crappy old rusty thing in exchange.

I have tried a place in Rochdale on a couple of occasions, who charge £1 to refill the 500g bottle, unfortunately on both occasions they overfilled it and it blew the safety valve.

Please, does anyone know where a cost effective solution for co2 can be obtained in the north west of England because i'm all out of ideas, and after forking out something in the region of £350 for the jbl system and additional 2kg jbl bottle, I dont fancy starting again with fire extinguishers.

At the moment I have a 6kg soft drink bottle and couple of 2½kg fire bottles from a friend who services fire extinguishers. It's the Easter Bank holiday so he won't be around till Tuesday. I'll ask him if he would like to offer a refill / exchange service and what sort of prices on various bottles. This would be for around Doncaster.

£10.00 6kg pub CO2 bottle

Contact Neil Turnill on 07889 305968.
He'll need a couple of days lead time to get the 6kg bottles.
Only proviso, the bottle MUST be returned to him when emptied.
