I'm a one year old newbe, and when I first setup my tank I was advised to put small white stone under the AS to save cash. I still have about 2 inches of AS in my 50 G tank.
The thing is that over time the cheap small white stones have crept to the surface.
As its just a cosmetic thing and I don't feel like starting again, and I know I can not just topup with AS. But could I place the new AS in another tank for a month and then use it to cover over?
