Hi,
I got this plant as secure green / In Vitro.
It looks like a green ball, I simply can´t figure out what are the leaves and what are the roots. Looks all the same. :p
In which direction should this thing be planted?

thx. Peter

Green Side Up!

Hi Peter,

Your Utricularia graminifo appears to have been left floating for sometime.:p

Pick a point and gently separate the ball to flatten it out, then further separate it, depending on the size into smaller pieces and plant green side up! :D:gw

When starting the plant lower light is a good idea, in fact it likes shade, though once it gets established that does not seem as important.

Utricularia graminifo tends to prefer softer water though the plants propagated here are not nearly so sensitive.

Good CO2 levels are a very good idea.

Remember this is a carnivorous plant…

This is an In Vitro plant grown sterile @AgarAgar and not any submersed floated plant.
And yes certainly green side up, but all sites are green and further separating it, didn´t help that much. (plant pieces are too tiny)
Ppl. told me meanwhile that such plants can be sticked into the gravel like they are and that it will find the way to the light. So yes, I will do so because it don´t see any other working solution with this "balls".
