I am able to get several fire extinguisher bottles however they are not co2. I am from Australia. I'm not sure if you have the same coding but it is red with a white stripe on the bottle. Co2 extinguishers have a black band on the bottle.

The question is can I use these bottles to house co2 if I clean them out and put a co2 valve on the top?

Hi,

I'm not sure about coding but in Canada fire extinguishers are often converted to CO2 bottles. I got a 20lb fire extinguisher bottle that was converted to a CO2 bottle for $75 rather than $200 for a new stainless steel tank. No it's not the nice stainless steel tank but it's under my stand and no one see's it.

Thanks for that.
I guess I'll just take it to a place that will hydro test it and see if I can do it.
