I still do not understand the reference.

So you will have to hunt Philosophos down in the wilds of Idaho while evading a disgruntled Buddhist to find out.

I must have been focusing on something else...

I normally would recommend general hardness of 5-8-dGH and carbonate hardness above 4-dKH.

If you dose Gh booster, then the KH should be less if the tap has equal GH and KH.
That's the only thing I can reason out of that.
