Hi all,
I am not sure did any one already discuss this 'new' Tropicas product Plant Nutrition+ with N and P
Google search on Tropica N and P Plant Nutrition+

Any reports on how good this product is? Besides PMDD this is the only product offering N and P here in Sweden. It would be good combining this product with the already excellent Tropica Master Grow. Does it contain N and P only, or some traces as well?

Awaiting replies :D

Kind regards, Dusko.

Thanks for the link, that is helpful.
Does any one use this product at the moment, and are the results any good?

I use it in one of my nanocubes 37 Liters with Java Moss, Alternathera reineckii, Crinum calamistratum, Liaeopsis braziliensis and Marsilea hirsuta. The plants are growing fine, there is a bit of BBA around but not progressing. CO2 via CO2 nutri tabs at the moment. While I was using the pressurised system I had lots of BBA, now with CO2 tabs very little??? Reason?

Lights are 2 x 11W fluorescent compact stripes, I am not sure but these might be called T4.

Water changes 50% weekly.

When I had BBA problem I used the Aquatic Nature Activator 24+ which should be enough + traces via Aquatic Nature basic. (Aquatic Nature is a Belgian company Aquatic Nature )

Regards, Dusko.

I used it for a while with good results in my 8L nano - but I got some dry ferts and switshed to EI, so I only tried it for a month or so. Im actually a little sad that i didnt try it for longer...

Now I use the Aquacare PLANT NUTRITION + capsules - look at the declaration here and notice the difference in makroconcentration compared to the liquid.

http://www.tropica.com/pdf/aquacare/vejledning plantenæring+ kapsler.pdf

I used a pack of 12 capsules around my Vallisneria nana yesterday and are looking forward to any noticeable change. I dose EI too - but had no growth with the Vallisneria...

All I can say for Tropica is that I have great confidense in them, since their dedication to plants are fantastic. If you are thinking of trying it out I can recomment it. Even though its kinda prizy.

I see what you mean;
N 15.0%, P 4.0%, K 7.5%

I must order this one though.

Thanks again. I will observe my plants for a few month and post back in here.

Regards, Dusko.

Claus sent me an email about 6 months ago about the series of liquid Ferts.

We talked about 1998 or so, and from that conservation and my insistence of the effectiveness of NO3/PO4, the product they now sell came to life.

Things take time , but they do occur.

ADA also sells liquid ferts with these in them as well as substrates with them.

Years ago, folks use Osmocoat, clay, kitty litter, soil etc

I am doing a test with ADA AS and ADA As + PS, and plain old delta soil, as well as Lake Tahoe sand soil and for the most part, they are identical as far as total biomass produced for a given time frame as wellas the no# of new side shoots etc for Myriophyllum.

The chamber is continuous flow through so there is no effect from the substrates on the water column.

Thus all the growth is derived from the sediment sources of stable constant water column levels.

I wonder will Tropica develop liquid Carbon, something like Seachem Flourish Excel, I sure hope so, since here in Scandinavia , possible in Germany too, it is hard/impossible to get SFE, and it would be great using such product from time to time, or what :D ?
If you don't mind Tom, when next time talking to Claus of course, mention liquid Carbon, something might happen though. Thanks.

I did e-mail Oliver Knott, knowing he is very close to the Tropica folk, about this. Is Tropica thinking about making such a product?
But no reply yet.......

Regards, Dusko.

In denmark you can get liquid carbon called Easy-carbo - I use it (as until i get my CO2-parts) for my 250L planted. It works ok - pearling after 5-6 hours - but not eksplosive effect like with CO2.

Easy-carbo is the only kind of liquid carbon in Denmark you can buy.

I heard that tropica bought some - so im pretty sure there interested.
Its their kind of product. They actually really needs it to complete their Aquacare series- But this infomation is relatively new, so I dont expect any new product recently.

I have also tested it against red-algae with good effect. Just a few drops from a syringe will kill it and turn it red/purple - and for now it has kept my 250L free from red-algae too - eventhougt i cant say its due to the easy-carbo or just good plantgrowth.

Has enyone tested SFE? Or heard any rumers about whats in it?
