Has anybody ever used this as a background surface for growing mosses and java ferns on the walls of an aquarium? I've looked at cork bark also, but it is more expensive. This stuff is used in terrariums and for mounting orchids, so it is very rot resistant. Just wondering if anyone has hearc of it being used in an aquarium.

I have some orchids mounted on it, but I'm not sure if it would hold up very well. Mine seems kinda crumbly, but it never hurts to try.

I used cork peg board, works great, get the darker lower grade larger cut cork, typically 1ft squares, 1/2" thick.

Do not use the thin tan colored fine cut cork.

If you want a natural look, the raw cork bark is really nice.
I'm planning on this for the 120 Gal dutch tank.
