Hi, I finally got my hands full of plants I dreamed of keeping. Today I purchased a good batch of plants, mostly Aponogeton sp (juveniles if the term applies), Cryptocoryne sp, as well as one specimen of Lobellia sp and some loose Ludwigia sp stems and Lilaeopsis carolinensis runners, mostly originated from WaterScapes Aquatic Plant Nursery, Seffner, FL that I manage to purchase at Lovely Pets, Quincy, MA.

Once I got to where I'm staying (Revere, MA), I carefully unpack them, removed the rock-wool and discard unhealthy vegetable tissue whenever I found it. I bagged them in moist air with a damp paper towel inside.

My question is: I'm flying back home in four days, Monday the 14th, can I leave them at room temperature bagged as they are or should I place them in a bucket and re-bag them for transportation just before I leave to the airport?

Last time I did this I paid for the plants, left them in the store and picked them up the day prior to taking my plane back home, problem is I cannot do that this time (I have two workshops to attend the day prior to traveling back home).

Hi Pepetj,

I would leave in the bags, but would rebag just before I left. You know fresh towel/papers to ensure moisture on the return trip. Better to check after 3 days than 4-5, no?

Wrapping them in wet newspaper will also protect them and keep them moist...Then plastic bags. They sell gallon size with the ziplock thingy....

The bucket is an option if the hotel doesn't toss them on you :)

How was your trip to Boston MA? Where did you go for your plants?
I see you found Lovely Pets, in Quincy, MA. You didn't try Skipton's in Boston?
