Ok ... Tom's sick and he really needs your help!

Some nasty bug has gotten ahold of him and he just won't slow down and take the time to rest and kick it ....

Instead ...Tom's still trying to keep up his normal pace and routine ... and that is three full time jobs, this forum and a half dozen other forums ...

So ... what can we do for him? Let's post up a STORM! Right here in the forums ...

How can that help? Well ... those of you that know me, know that my motto is:

One Hobbyist taking care of another Hobbyist ...

So ... let's keep the questions flowing (in fact, let's double them if we can) ... but let's all jump in and answer each other's questions, offer our own opinions, share our experiences ...

Tom needs to take a few days to take care of Tom for a change ...

Thanks,
Greg

Hope he recovers soon. And here was me thinking Tom was immune to pretty much anything :)

Tom,
You obviously need a 50% w/c and a 3 day blackout. Go a little higher with the nitrates. :gw :D :D

Thanks folks, I'm hacking up, but on the mend, I hopefully will get the Calcium article done here today.

I will say this, the article is very interesting, there is not much out there about aquatic plants and calcium, but a lot is useful in other areas, that can be applied to aquatic plants.

One things folks may find interesting: Ca acts as a neural net, a neverous system in a sense for plants.

Thanks,
Tom Barr

Now I think that is one of the best responses I've seen!!!!!!!!

A three day blackout is exactly what is needed!!!!!

If the problem is green slime then maybe you should check your co2, up the PO4 and make sure your Nitrate hasn't bottomed out......

Hummm the blackout has worked well, ........sleep, ummm what is that?
This smilely is how I've been coughing

Well, tomorrow should have the Ca++ report in hand.
I'm interested in it myself. These articles do provide a great wealth of learning and information for me also, not just you folks!

Well, since I'm sick and late here, I'll get going on the next one and hope to have it to Greg to publish by 15th of this month. My work load will decline at the end of this next week. Then I should get the Jan edition out on or around the 1st of Jan.

So the next Dec one will be on Mg++, then Jan on PO4, that should be a fun one.

Nothing like winter time arguements.

Feb is going to be Oxygen, something different and few have ever addressed.

Mar will be Sulfur another very little discussed or addressed nutrient, but actually somewhat well known.

Apr will be Fe and Mn

May will be the remaining traces.

That should keep you all out of trouble, well maybe, it might cause some more trouble too:) :gw

Thanks for the support.
Other non nutrient topics will be coming up(I have another 12 topics beyond this list).

Hope you are feeling better, Tom. I am sure you know that the little antibiotic pills that are made for aquariums are a fine grade and can fix you up too. ;) I know a guy here that drinks this horrible pink swine antibiotic when needed - seems to work just fine. Who needs an MD when you know a little chemistry.

Have a restful Christmas.

No pink septic sewage for me.
I'm fine now.
Thanks though.

I do not self medicate unless no option exist, but I have a doctor.
