I wish to start an EI regimen and want to ask for your recommendations as a point of departure as well as the targets I should shoot for once I start using EI. I'm in Plantation, Broward County, FL which I think you're quite familiar with?
I have a 55 gal with pressurized CO2 which I run on a controller at pH 6.3 and usually at 30+ ppm of CO2. pH rises to 6.5 at night when the lights and controller shut off after a 12 hour photoperiod. Lighting is AH Supply 2 x 55W 5500K CF lighting. Moderate plant load and light fish load. Flourite substrate and an Eheim 2224 canister filter. I'm working on an (semi) automatic water changer for the near future.
Tap water is as follows per my testing:
pH 6.9
KH 1
GH 1
NO3 0
PO4 1
Per the City of Plantation:
Nitrate as N 0.13 ppm
Nitrite as N 0.03 ppm
Iron 0.026 ppm
Nothing else of note in their report. They did not even show Ca or Mg.
I have a scale with 100mg intervals and most of the ferts in dry form from Greg.
I would really appreciate your assistance.
