Tom,

I have seen you recommend TMG or Flourish vs. the homemade stuff, why is that? Is it that certain ingredients contained in the commercial stuff that are not available in the homemade, and if so, what are they?

If not too much hassle, I would like to create my own "TMG"...

Thanks.

Re: TMG vs. Flourish vs. CSM+B

I like the look I get from TMG.

It is subtle.
It also does not preciptate very easily, so while it's a tiny bit harder for plants to use, the targeted pH ranges we use and the time it's in solution outweigh that I think.

Re: TMG vs. Flourish vs. CSM+B

Do you dose the same amount of TMG as you would CSM? Meaning: if the dose for a given tank were 20 ml of TMG, would you use the same amount of CSM or slightly more?

Re: TMG vs. Flourish vs. CSM+B

Greg Watson recommend dosing 25% more CMS+B to reach the potentional of Flourish (which I assume would also mean to get it to equal TMG). This is with the 2Tbsp in 500ml solution. i.e. Dose 6.25ml per 20g's CMS+B or 5ml Flourish/TMG per 20g's.

I think Greg suggest adding 25% more when using 1 tablespoon CSM and 1 tablespoon magnesium per 500ml.
