Hi everyone,
I am living in Lebanon Beirut,
And I am trying myself at planted tank High tech.
It is not very easy here as the hobby is inexistent...
I manage to get a Co2 bottle some T5 24 w and I am starting from here.
Hard to do Ei as I cannot find Monopotassium phospate..
Only potassium sulfate and potassium nitrate.
No way to find Plantex either and Amazon or any other website do not deliver here...

My first problem:
Here plants arrive in shops without names.
So can you help me identify them?

Second problem my water is very hard how could I lower my KH?

Sounds like a challenge! Looks like you're off to a very good start.

What type of substrate is that? If its some kind of Aquasoil type with nutrients, you may can get by without much water column dosing. It will also drop the KH some. Otherwise I dont know of a good way to soften the water besides using 50% RO or something like that

Here's the plants Im pretty sure about

1. Cryptocoryne green gecko
2. Anubias of some kind (nana I think)
3. Bacopa monnieri
4. Eliocharis parvula aka dwarf hair grass (I think, not entirely sure)

Tall red in back I believe is Ludwigia glandulosa. Red bottom middle Ludwigia sp red. Some of these have been grown emersed so they need to convert to submerged growth to be sure.

Good luck! Keep us posted

Most easy to grow stem plants will grow to the water surface, then lean to one side until new branches start growing from the upper side. We need to prune the plants to keep them from over growing like that. You can cut off the tops and replant them, leaving the existing plant there to grow new stems. Or, you can remove the bottom part and just replant the cut off piece. There are a few stem plants that won't grow that high, but I don't remember what they are.

Fe most likely. Mg is a mobile nutrient, deficiency generally starts with older leaves.

What kind of substrate is that?

Is there any aquarium brand fertilizers available over there? Over here there's some very common but incomplete products, like Tetra FloraPride, which contain just Fe and K. Its available just about anywhere, Wal-mart, etc. If you can find something like that it would probably help. You'll almost certainly need some type of Fe eventually

I use tetra plantapro micronutrient but doesn't say which one
Tropical(not tropica) potassium+micronutrient
Fer manganese mobilum boron etc ( no mg)
Tropical macronutrients
1 day micro
1 day macro all week
Change of water 40% every week

On the right side it is rotala rotundifolia,
It was thriving nd then I add to move it on the back( it was blocked by wood)
After replanting, it stopped growing completely.
Two possible reasons, I stopped using tetra planta pro, no more or I planted them in packs so the roots couldnt be happy.
And I add sign of clorhosis

Hi everyone,
I have a product for macro containing 10ml=
N= 110 mg
P= 10 mg
K = 160 mg

From the rotala buterfly website I should reach N = 8 ppm
K = 5 ppm

My tank is 86 L
Does this mean that I should calculate as followed?

10 ml = 110 mg N so for 86 L it would be
10 ml = 110/86 = 1.27 ppm so
8 ppm/ 1.27 ppm = 6.29

I therefor should add 60 ml of the solution?

For the K I reach with same calculation 30 ml of solution.

So if I add let say 40 ml of solutiin I am good?

And this 3 times a week?

It seems big no?

Thank you for your help

Ok other question maybe someone will answer this one :'(.
The KH in Lebanon is very high and Ph too.
From the rotala butter calculation for co2
My kh is 10 and my Ph is 7.8 so my co2 is aroumd 7 ppm.

My tank is flooded with Co2 there is bubbles everywhere.
Am I missing something?
