Would like to thank Tom,fred,dutchy,Super coley,Tug,and numerous others here as well as other forums for their invaluable advice and expierience.
My 80 gal Low tech,low light,low maint, tank is doing much better than I could have hoped for.
Once a week or two dosing with EI and weekly trace,have greatly helped me to achieve the growth desired from even low light plant's that I was largely unsucessful with in the past.
I have what I wanted,A fish tank with lot's of plant's and both are doing well with minimum effort and or water changes (once a month).
If I had less fish, then perhaps I would stretch the water changes out even further but with approx 80 assorted small fishes, Once a month seems to work for my tank and other than a tiny amount of hair or thread algae on tips of Leopard vals that frequently reach the surface,I can find no evidence of any other form of algae which always plauged my efforts in the past.
Again,,many thanks to all, and rest assured,, I will continue to soak up info shared by those here and maybe this summer,,,I'll give the gas and possibly a wider variety of plant's a go.
