I have decided to go with EI and now I have my 4 bags of ferts from Greg WAtson. (potassium sulfate, mono potassium phosphate, posattium nitrate, and plantex csm-b). I have been using flourish for a year before now with decent sucess.

    Tank is 6ft 125gal.
    lighting is 4 55watt and 4 36watt powercompact lights
    ph: 6.4
    kh: 2
    gh: 3
ammonia, phosphate, nitrates are all very low
there is a layer of laterite that was put in 2 years ago and I also use Flourish tabs occasionally.

After hurricane Rita, I lost most of my fish since I had no power for almost 2 weeks so the tank is understocked for now, just 12 ottos, 6 siamese algae eaters, 6 corys, 15 bloodfins, 10 cherry shrimp. All the plants made it ok. Currently have amazon swords, water onions, jungle vals, and lots of subulata grass.

Now the question. Im sitting here looking at the 4 bags but I have no idea how much to dose daily. I want to dose dry.

    Thanks for the help,

    Add:

More plants if you have them.
Lower the pH about .1 unit, maybe 0.2 => add more CO2.

    Add KNO3: 3x a week 1 teaspoon
    KH2PO4: 3x a week 1/4 teaspoon.
After water change only(and optional), 1 teaspoon of K2SO4

    Traces: 25mls 3x a week

If you use CMS(I don't like it personally) add 1 table spoon in 250mls of DI water.

    Weekly 50%(or more water changes)

Does that apply to a 55 gal tank too?

Yes, but at 55/125 ratio=> 2.2 times less volume of nutrients.
