Nice! I watched all 7 parts. Cande, the aquarium maintenance person, uses LA tap water for his water changes in that 500g saltwater aquarium! He has 0 nitrates too! Beautiful rose anemone aquarium!!!

Yes, I've found the whole series interesting. It's my new substitute for TV!

I don't agree with everything that is done and Jim, the host, is kind of old school. He has a hard time with controllers and internet research. :)

It seems like some automation and monitoring would be good to prevent issues since the tank owners seem somewhat removed from the day to day operation of their tanks.

It could be sub-titled 'Aquariums of the Rich and Anonymous'. Some of the houses are way over the top.

Nice and safe technique, but too much fuss.... You dont need to suck the water all the way to the end of hose, its enough to suck the water over the glass and just under water level after that its all gravity's business. Just small sudden breath in and you are good to go. Also doing this while standing, not bent by the bucket, helps to avoid mouth full of water.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. This is a 'no suck' method of starting a siphon. I use a 50ft. hose to siphon water into my back yard. Kinda hard to suck on that!!
