What do you think of this behaviour from my beckfords Pencilfish?

Do I have a pair? Or a Dominant and Submissive couple males.

Is this courting behaviour? Is there something further needed to be done to get them to pull the trigger?

Hi,

That is courtship and the male is the one with the red fins.. when they dive into the foliage and shudder, they are release eggs and sperm..

They are huge egg eaters and either the eggs or the parents need removal for any real chance at fry...

I have had beckfordi before and they are a really nice fish....

Nice looking fish and plants...How about a fts?

I could tell the obvious Male was doing his thing, fertilising, but the suspected female was not releasing eggs.

Thanks. Heres a fulltank a couple days after a trim:

Damn, the giant baby tears grow quickly... three days after trimming and the few stems have jumped out of the main plantmass.
Having trouble getting the didplis to grow red. Only does so when it reaches to about 2-3" under the water surface.

I do think its a pair, I just don't see eggs yet despite them going through the motions.

Tankmates are shrimp and pygmy corries.
