Hello ,

I was reading on anothe forum about the use of a Siesta period to extend the viewing time of a tank into the late evening.

The sun shines in my living room around 10am and o until11pm thats when the lights go off.. The c02 and venturi turn on at 8am until 11pm.

I was thinking of using this method in hopes to reduce lighting by 2 hours and possible have algae benefits ?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Re: Siesta Period

None that I've seen.
I also see no reason that it would work.
Namely an issue of poor CO2.
If you have good CO2, then the light is not an issue nor helps doing this.

Re: Siesta Period

Anytime someone post a method to kill algae, I wonder why are they not thinking about the plants and their needs?

Put another way: why is the algae there in the first place........... given you set up the tank to grow plants and that is your goal, not killing algae?
