I have read on here that Seachem Equilibrium isn't trace, but a GH booster. Would a GH booster such as Rex Griggs booster or similar be interchangeable with equilibrium?

Barr's GH Booster and Seachem's Equilibrium are practically equivalent. They were designed to only increase General Hardness. Minerals, not traces (or micros). You will want something like CSM+B, Seachem's Flourish, or Tropica's Plant Nutrition (formerly known as "Mastergrow").

GH boosters, Rex or AF's are modified from Seachem's formula.

Generally, a bit more Mg, less K+(there's plenty).
