I'm using ADA substrate ..its an year old.
It has started giving early signs of exhaustion, I'm planning to feed the plants with Substrate Tabs.

The water I'm using is very hard & it is groundwater.
Fairly high in Phosphate, Nitrate and Fluoride.
Would it be a good idea to start using Root Tabs without worrying about Algae ?, I've bushy plants in my tank btw

You can also use the Laguna plant spikes and make sure they are fully buried in the substrate. I'd any of it is exposed or is too shallow though, you might get an algae bloom (assuming your plants cant keep up w the nutrients).

When the spikes run out, you can refill them with osmocot also.
