There are two different fractioning impellers shown on Rio/TAAM's site for the Rio+ 1100, plus a kit to install the optional needle wheel impeller. You can order from Rio/TAAM: http://www.riopump.net/products_pumps/rioplus_parts.html

Then there is a kit that uses a needle wheel impeller for finer bubble for the 1100:

No, in the USA there are no vendors that sell Rio 1000 needle wheel impellers.
You must contact Taam directly in CA, USA and they will sell you some.

Buy the pump elsewhere, few folks will need anything over a Rio 1000.
Best to call Taam and place the order that way vs on line.

I'm not having very much luck finding vendors, hence ebay. Below is some type of needle wheel for the 1100 and below it is the stock one.

stock: http://cgi.ebay.com/Replacement-Imp...318?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4a9aa54916

Btw thanks for finding that for me, i'm not sure that needle wheel impeller will do much different to the chopped blades, i think that pinwheel looks like a go-er.

I hope that it works out for you.

Do you think that you will need that kit above to use it or can you just swap out yours?

The Rio 1000 is plenty big enough for most folks' tanks, if you have 300-400 gal, then 2 of them this size is a good idea.

Very quiet, I do not notice it. I also do not see any mist etc.
All the tank pics you see of my 180 gal has the CO2 mist going.

Taam Rio will sell folks what they need here in the USA, not sure about in EU or AU etc.
