@Dennis Singh Thanks. So many questions ;)

Once I'd found the DW stump I immediately got a firm idea about how I wanted the hardscape to look. The planting was more fluid and didn't really fall in to place until the hardscape was finished.

I guess in all there is about 2 days work there, but spread out over a couple of weeks or so. I usually find it better to leave the scape for a few days and then look at it again.
Putting some distance between me and it helps to iron out any potential problems or design issues that might annoy me once it's planted. So perfected over time...such as it is :)

As for the stems, the idea is to crop them short so they follow the contours of the DW sloping upward front to back.
They need to grow and establish a bit first though. Constant pruning can result in thin and weedy growth.

    @Coasters13 Thank you.

    1. I don't usually test my water parameters, so I don't have clue what they are, although the water around these 'ere parts is pretty hard...makes, near as damn it, no difference at all to healthy plant growth though ;)

    2. No I don't use RO water and never have. I reckon unless you've got a diabolically poor water supply high in nasties, or you're trying to breed specialist soft water fish species then there really is no point, most plants simply don't care either way.

The scape has been in desperate need of a trim for some time, but somehow I've never managed to get round to it...but today I decided to just get on with it.
The stems had gone over the top and I'm going to have to stay on top of them from now on the get the low and compact growth I want. They still look a bit untidy as a result.

This is a great setup. The layout gives a nice depth feeling. In the pic just showing hardscape I assumed this is a 48" x 30" (120cm x 72cm).

Thanks @burr740. Haha, I know, a trim...I even got round to hacking back the stems yesterday; pics below.
And @geektom that's really nice of you to say so, thanks as well.
Bless you @msb that's one of the nicest things anyone has said to me. The tank is only 60x40x25(h) cms.
I deliberately set out to give the impression the tank was much bigger. I have to admit tho' that the tanks aspect ratio helps a great deal.

Thanks @pablo8412 I try to stay on top of maintenance if nothing else. Reducing organics is one of the key factors helping to keep algae at bay.

Gave the shallow a good trim on Sunday. I also removed a lot of moss to expose the hardscape.

Gave the scape it's last trim today, I'm going to let it grow back in a little and then I'll take the final shots.
After that I'll be tearing it down and scaping an ADA Cube Garden 60P.
    Some pics...
