Not sure where to ask this -

I have two Rena Filstars (XP1 and XP2) on my 75 gallon tank with lily pipe inlets/outlets. The flow is a little weak. I would like to provide a little more flow. I have the opportunity to get a broken XP3. The XP3 lid/pump works, there is just a leak in the plastic box itself. Would there be an adverse effect to putting the XP3 lid on the XP2 and the XP2 on the XP1? Or do I need a different approach altogether?

I wouldn't see why not as log as the lid do fit. I'm using a Maxijet 1200 on the exit of a Chinese cheapo canister with the same problem (low flow) and it's in series with the existing pump with no ill effects.

There should be no issues doing it that way. If you really have doubts (since you got the parts already) hook it up and test it out. If it doesnt blow a seal (might not hurt to just replace those too, get them from planet rena) you should be golden.
