My tap water is ~2 dKH and similar in my tank. I have my CO2 addition /pH set to 6.5 pH. I would like to raise my overall CO2 ppm. Better to raise KH (would have to do every WC) or lower pH down to 6.2/6.3 to get to 30-40 ppm CO2?

No need to worry about the pH drop. 6.2-3 is fine.
