Purigen Recharging

I am recharging my Purigen and notice it smells a bit. Is this smell normal?

This is what I have done so far:

1) 1:1 water to Clorox Mountain Fresh Bleach for 24 hours
2) 2 tbs to 1 cup water and Prime solution for 12 hours
3) 1 tbs to 1 cup water Neutral Regulator for 12 hours

Like I said it seems to smell a bit. Normal?

Would use plain bleach "no scent". Those scents stay in clothes, wouldn't be good for aquariums IMO.

I do 24 hrs with just plain dechlor after 24 hr clorox soak. Then air dry before use

Like I said it seems to smell a bit. Normal?

Maybe the bleach scent or it is spent, If in doubt, pitch it.
