Play sand? yes or no?

    Could I just use PlaySand (from lowes) as a subsrate? I figure I couldn't.... anyone ?

    You can but in my experience its hell to wash and dirty as hell. Pool filter sand is much cleaner to begin with.

    Ill wait for the pfs, figured play sand was to buoyant and I'd ask first.

    Another thing to consider with play sand is the grain size and shape. It will compact a lot easier then PFS and create a whole different set of problems down the road.

    Stick with PFS, the grain size and shape is a lot less prone to compaction.

    Have you checked any local pool supply stores for PFS? Places around me have it by the skid load, 50lb bag for $8 CAN.....
