    This week's plant highlight is

    Styracosaurus_dinosaur.png

Nah just kidding. Nevertheless, a plant which has a name more suitable for a dinosaur

    Ceratopteris cornuta

Plant profile and discussion here: https://barrreport.com/knowledge-base/ceratopteris-cornuta.229/

On the other hand, I unearthed some digital-fossils from 12 years ago of a Ceratopteris sp. plant. Maybe you can help me identify it.
    Ceratopteris-cornuta-3-of-3-1.jpg

How can you tell the species apart ?
How do you use it in your aquariums?
Does it even have a place in modern aquascaping ?

More recent pictures always help :)

    Cheers

Another week, another business trip. After 2 days of driving, finally a place with good stable wi-fi, checking the barrreport and missing a relaxing view of your home aquarium. These are realities of our modern life, just like The Plant of the Week .

This week, we have a popular plant used by many in their aquascapes:

    Pogostemon helferi

Plant profile and discussion here: https://barrreport.com/knowledge-base/pogostemon-helferi.200/

Looking forward to see your experience with this plant.

I know. My inbox if filled with posts asking when is the plant of the week going to be announced ???

Thing is last evening I went to bed directly after work... sleepy head, summer hibernation is approaching. While I prepare my bed, others are preparing their ponds, so the plant of the week is a pond plant :

    Acorus gramineus

Plant profile and discussion here: https://barrreport.com/knowledge-base/acorus-gramineus.10/

So us how you integrated this plant in your pond.

This week we have sunny, stay outside and dream about ponds weather so the plant of the week is ...
    Cabomba aquatica

    Profile and comments here: https://barrreport.com/knowledge-base/cabomba-aquatica.53/

This is a classic and one of the plants that is able to survive even in the hands of beginners. Any of you integrating this plant in your aquascapes or ponds ?

    Images always needed.

This week the highlighted plant is:

    Hyptis lorentziana

It seems it is mainly a pond/marginal plant but gets a nice red hue when submersed. Mine 8s just now making the transition so I will come back later this week with some photos. Meanwhile if anyone would like to add their experience it would be great.

Keeping up with the pond/aquarium theme, this week's plant is

    Lysimachia nummularia

What was your use of this plant ? Where does it fit into aquascapes or ponds?

Here is a recent photo of the emersed form of L. nummularia. Seems to dislike very acidic conditions in my experience, though need for testing. Did you also experienced this ?

This is not an automated message, hence the randomness :)

For this week, we have a more controversial cultivar
    Alternanthera Reineckii 'green'

Is it really green in the same conditions which grow a red Althernathera or is it just an unlucky stem who remained int the shadow ? Looking forward to your input.
