Just a quick question about the following:
Rotalaindica2sm.jpg

Rotala Indica

Just how tall should I expect it to grow in a 24" tall tank. It's putting out loads of new root runners and filling in well but it seems to stop growing at about 6"-8" and I had hoped for a little more height.

If this is normal I may relocate it and try something else in the back corner where it is now? Right now its:
[Rotala --- Polygonum --- Lindernia]
along the back. Suggestions welcome.

Thanks,
Pat

Hi Pat,

I have found that most rotala species will grow as tall as they have room for.....

Try moving it to another location and see.

I can't say I have had indica before but many other rotalas

Nice plant BTW!

That's what I thought. I may move them to a point just in front of a hard scape item anyway, but if they grow taller there I'll have to move them again.

err .... um ... Thanks, but ... well it's a stock photo from APC. Guess I should have said that up front.

Thanks,
Pat

IME, they grow short to about 6 inches tall and send up new stems from the base of the older stem/stems.

Just what I'm seeing. Thanks for the info.

Next water change I'll move 'em. Now I just need to decide what to put in that corner of the tank.
