In my excitement to get started I missed the name of the plant in the store. I emailed the LFS as it's a 2 hr drive away and was told it is eater hedge. As it doesn't look like anything I found online I kept looking. To me it looks like it could be a bacopa, moneywort or water primrose. Would love to hear someone else's opinion

Likely to be a Ludwigia, hard to say as the plant is rather damaged and emersed. Maybe post a photo after it adapts to growing underwater.
Will do! It was submerged at the store when I got it and has been as well since I got it home. I'm assuming the deathly look is my doing as there isn't much for nutrient other than fish waste
it tends to happen like that. Many nurseries grow the plants emersed in somewhat high humidity, ship them to shops where they get put in the tank. Usually they don't stay around long enough at the LFS to fully convert. Nothing wrong with it , just that when plants adapt to being submersed they change some characteristics ( color, leaf shape etc).

Oh cool I didn't know that! Thanks! By saying leave a stem to float do you mean to take a cutting? Or float the whole plant? There are 3 of them in total. Just float one?
