I would like to thank Kevin for the Plant Fest article he wrote so kindly in TFH.
Pictures where great, the article was well written.

On that note, it's time to stop the stalling and plan ahead for this year's plant fest.

I want to see when is a good time for folks so as to better plan this.
If you are serious about attending, PM me and I'll send phone and other contact info.

I will be doing the marine plant fest this year baring another hurricane week.
This is the funnest of the tripcs truthfully, if you like FW plants, come to this and forever be changed, you will know more about marine plants than most any reef person and SW person after we are done.

The FW event is somewhat similar, but I have a few new thing in mind and a tour of Dr Kane's tissue culture lab with Madagascar lace plants grown emegernet in tiny vials always gets folks excited as well as all the Crypts.

We will stop at a local Wholesaler in Tampa as well at the end of the FW part of the trip. Then to Florida Keys!

I will post some pics from that event which I've done nearly 6 times now.

I'm thinking about June 10-17th.

If you come to CA for the AGA meeting this coming Nov, ask and I can show you where to find some nice rocks, wood etc. CA has very nice hardscaping materials, petrified wood, etc, manazanita(most are endemic to CA), Redwood, oaks and a variety of suitable materials.

There is even the endangered FW shrimp from Marin county, CA.

Here's the old announcement, the dates are Sun-Tues for the event this year.

This can be subjected to change if consensus decides so.

Air
GNV Gainesville, FL 0 miles
JAX Jacksonville, FL 71 miles
ORL Orlando, FL 114 miles
DAB Daytona Beach, FL 117 miles
TLH Tallahassee, FL 156 miles

Accomodations

Motel 6 is about the cheapest place and the one here is nice and is close to many stores/eateries. Check the website for the current pricing but it usually runs $36 per night for single, $42 for doubles and $3 each for up to 4 people per room. Now if you folks want to room together, 2 people $21 each per night, 4 people $10.50 per night and kids under 17 are free. That's pretty darn cheap!

The number for reservations is 352-373-1604.

See the 2nd page for the previous year's event 2004

If yoyu have never been, you'll be sorry and jealous at anyone that does get to go.

I have not entirely finalized the plans but will be doing so this week-next.
