Will adding maybe an inch or two of osmocote plus to an established tank cause problems for the inhabitants..like an ammonia spike?

    I would not use inches

Adding the stuff can be tricky, it won't cause problems though.

I go with 5 grams per sq ft, you can make it richer, but not more than cobverage of the bottom, not building up 2 grains deep etc.

Osmocote Plus should never be used in a tank containing Inverts as the amount of Cu is .05% which is a toxic level for some fish and most inverts. For inverts it should not exceed .01%

It is 0.05% by weight, not PPM.

    Not a problem.

You know how much Cu in Plantex CSM+B?
    0.1% :)

    No Real Difference

    Hi,

The Osmocote Plus I use is 15-9-12, though the difference is not significant. :)

    Thanks.

Its frustrating that Home Depot and OSH close to my place doent not sell Osmocote Plus but only the regular one. (Osmocote). Got to find Lowes and TrueValue garden stores.

Wal-mart is the only place that stocks the Plus in my area. Home Depot/Lowes only have the regular.
