Nylon Straight Adapter, 1 in. MPT x 1-1/4 in nipples

Are these just as good as the pvc {gray} straight nipples

ink,

I have been using pvc components and 1" spa flex for +2yrs now with NO issues...

Quiet, easy to work with, lasts a long time. Easy to change/replace/fix as needed.

Most common parts can be found easily.

I now stay away from barbed ends as much as possible.

Hi Gerry

Either I suppose. I'd just like to hear about fittings that you have found as suitable alternatives for barbs.

Thanks

Jim

Hi,

I don't mean to say I have found a replacement for barbed ends, but have found you can reduce them with a bit of effort.

It was easier for me as I have all 1" spa flex all around. I used mostly slip pvc fittings and couplings and a few threaded here and there. Lots of unions and ball valves to control flow as I need. Also has a drain attached for maintenance.

Here are a few pics with the only barbed ends on the drilled outlet bulkheads. So just 4 of them. You can see them in pics 3 and 4. You can see where I fit the barbed into a slip coupler of 1" size for the braided hose. The barb is just 3/4 to match the drilled bulkhead.
