Nutrient Dosing Calculator v1.5.91 - problem choosing target

Hello,

I cannot find where to change the target in various modes of operation. The calculator seems to default to a Fe target of 0.1ppm in the various dosing modes, and does not appear to give the option to change the target chemical in the dose to reach target mode. I tried current version Chrome and Firefox on Win 10. Am I simply overlooking the field or button?

Steps to reproduce:
- Navigate to the nutrient calculator
- Enter aquarium volume
- Choose Premixed
- Choose a premix product
- Choose EI Daily
- Press "Calculate"

As a former support guy and current systems engineer, I am going to be really embarrassed when someone comes along and gives me an easy answer, but after nearly an hour of playing around and looking at forums I cannot find one.

Thanks in advance!

I believe that choosing EI Daily is choosing the targets. If you want to pick a different target, you should choose "Dose to reach a target" instead.

Yes, however when you choose 'dose to reach a target' only Fe is available to target. Far as I can see this is a limitation of the calculator when dealing with mixes.

One workaround is to select 'result of my dose' and adjust the dose (in mL) until you hit your target for the nutrient you choose.

Another approach is to just do the math. If you post here what your target is we can do a worked example.

Thanks for the answers! It's good to know that it's a limitation and not a bug. If my understanding is clear, the calculator produces results for fixed ratios of one nutrient to another. The math makes sense to me, but if I get confused when it comes time to use this tool I will be back for a sanity check.

Edit - after some reading, I have a deeper understanding of EI dosing and I now confidently understand why the calculator functions as it does.
