I am interested in observing nocturnal behavior of my tank inhabitants. I have looked at various options on the market and most contain LEDs to create the light. Has anyone considered using cold cathode lights and what, if any, effect this would have on the dark cycle that plants and fish need? BTW, for a 75g setup, one could install cold cathode lights for 75% less than a LED setup. Again, the important point I am trying to understand is the effect of cold cathode lights on plants.
