Get a drop in UV sterilizer and a timer and run it an hour on and an hour off for 24 hrs for about a week like this, then turn down the rate of uv sterilation for 30 minutes evrey 2hrs in the same time period the lights are on.
my first fish purchase would be 3-5 Otocinclus (OTO cats) and 3-5 nitrite snails.
I would also put into the tank something that is going to starve the algae like java moss. and don't run the tank light for a week. even after the java moss and fish added.
