So I've just started aquascaping and trying out the DSM method as due to Covid it is quite difficult to get all my aquascaping plants and stuffs from overseas. Currently, this is what I have done:

    1. Elevated Valley design with Ohko Rocks and Amazonia substrate
    2. I have my lighting on for 12hrs everyday and mist it 2 times a day
    3. Covered with Saran Wrap and only air it for 30 mins a day
    4. I filled the water to at least 1cm to the lowest part of the substrate

    Issues:

    1. Dry patches of substrate on the higher areas of the valley.
    2. algae starts to form at the dry parts of the substrate.

I'm not sure how do i keep the dry patches wet or moist at least. and as i keep trying to keep it moist algae is starting to form. Please help guys. THanks in advance
