Google, site search and wikipedia is what you'll need for the knowledge end. In some cases there's stuff you just won't understand now and then, especially if it involves scientific journals. Most of us are in over our head at any given time

I'm new myself and it didn't take but a few hours of poking around to know I had to get a subscription. I find that everywhere would be a good place to start browsing. You may end up like me and feel as though your drowning in information. Some of which is WAY above my head, but I hope in time I figure it out.

You might try explaining your goals for more guidance. Maybe start here,

Once you have decided on a method, you should read up as much as you can on the method, ask around if you wish, see what the general consensus might be about it.

The lighting you choose will pretty much decide the method for you.
