Quick way to remove moss?

As the time for flooding nears, I've noticed I've got as much of my micro sword growing in my tank as moss. In the back, where there isn't anything in the way, I simply flipped the flourite over and buried the stuff. There are also plenty of clumps and strands running almost side by side with my micro swords and I'm wondering if there's a quicker way to get rid of the stuff than having to dig out each and every strand of moss. As I understand there's a big chance I'll be setting myself up for algae if I don't remove it.
