Hey everyone. Just set up my new little tank a couple days ago. Specs:
10.5 glass rimless
25w JBJ Macro-Glo PC light fixture
Marineland HOB power filter
Substrate is about 3/4" peat moss and 2" or so of Flourite sand
I'm trying to do the low-tech method but not sure if I have too much light or not quite enough. It doesn't seem very intense to me but that's coming from a Reef keeping background. There does seem to be a pretty good light spread though.
The plants in general right now look a little off and I'm not sure if this is just a period for them to settle in and they'll bounce back after acclimation? Any suggestions, comments, or constructive criticisms are welcome. Thanks for looking! :D

For a low tech tank I'd say your a little high on the lights. Also most of those plants you have love Co2. I see some Aromatica, Ambulia, broad leaf chain sword, melon sword, and baby tears. Do you have Co2?

Hi. I don't run CO2 or excel. I was trying to keep things low maintenance and simple. My goal is to maintain healthy plants but I'm not looking for fast growth.
I planned on starting the basic Fert. dosing Barr suggests for low tech tanks in about a month when the tank is cycled...

I think the plant on the right is C. parva not broad leaf chain sword. That should do fine in a low tech. The HC and aromatica is another issue though.
