Folks,

Let me know your thoughts. I have only Amazon swords planted now. I am waiting for them to grow in inorder to cover the pipes.

I had trouble posting a pic-- my first time. Hopefully, this will work.

Attached is another photo. The light are corallife 150 HQI. The bulbs are ada 8000 k. Clearly, they are intended by Amano for plants. Should I go with less kelvin? I have the outer 2 lights on for a 10 hour photoperiod and the middle one on at "high noon" for an hour or 2. I am thinking about adding some floating plants. Any suggestions?

No, these are great bulbs and a nice set up.
You might consider making a Xmas moss wall for the rear on cork bark etc.

This looks a lot like the tank Jeff did with the Blue discus a few years back.
See ADG's web site or the AGA contest.

Nice tank.
You'll end up running the lights about 8 hours and be fine.

Thanks Tom. Yes, this tank was modeled after Jeffs tank with the blue discus.
I love the idea of a X-Mas moss wall. Can this moss withstand 84 F temps? I think it would look incredible if I could pull it off.

Very nice tank!

Maybe one or two of the smaller/medium lillies would do? You can just trim the larger leaves if they get too big..

Duckweed will also work, but once it sets in, you will be dumping it weekly lol

Also, your swords will get tall and eventually provide more shade......

I also like the lights alot....

I went from 14k to 6500k, let us know how the 8k does.

You can always try some moss elsewhere in the tank and see if it grows well for you before you put together the wall.

Best of luck.

Xmas moss is native to the Amazon..........
As long as you have good high CO2 blasting into it.
Warmer temps= more CO2 demand.

Also, the discus look best against the darker moss vs any other plant really(bolbitus is about the only other plant that's nice and dark like that)
Search moss walls and how to make them on goggle, many folks on AQ forum does this.
