I`m in the process of planning a new build & contemplating mixing Fluval Plant Stratum substrate & Flourite, my present thinking is that having used the Fluval Stratum with great success in a 20 Gln tank but dislike the lightness of the substrate hence my question.
Does anyone see any issues with this idea both cosmetic & otherwise?

    Hi,

I see no issues. Really depends on if fish disturb it or if it gets mixed over time by flow and such....

Many folks mix and use a 'prettier' covering over a nute rich base....

I have used flourite but not with anything else so this is speculation on my part...
