I've been using misting a couple of months now. Both with a venturi-reactor and with a powerhead with spraybar along the back of the tank.
Since I've stopped feeding CO2 to my intake I've had trouble of dosing enough micros (pale new shoots) and the pearling have been quite bad.
Somehow the iron seems to have got stuck in the Ehfisubstrate, it got very dark. FeOH-percipitate? It was easy to remove with citric acid:

CO2 in the intake = Low pH = Better micro/iron solubility?
CO2-misting = Higher pH = Less solubility?
This shouldn't be so prevalent with low-pH-substrates like ADA/peat. I have plain gravel that is vacuumed once in a while.
