There are many chemicals and enzymes that are analogs, it is one of the main supports for Evolution along with DNA(eg, who's your Daddy, who's your Mama) that Darwin never had, but postulated existed.
The DNA is extremely telling as the loci are identical in many different species that make the proteins and enzymes that are in many different species. Even the placement on the chromosomes.
This is also why DNA is used to convict or exonerate criminals/the innocent/wrongly accused. If you look at dogs and humans, the variation between the same species is massive, but they have almost 99.99% all the same genes.
That little bit can cause huge changes.
