New to the forums so - Hi all..

I used to keep fish a few years ago - I bred Apistograma and Discus back then - but I'm looking to build a planted tank using the techniques discussed in this series of youtube videos -

    - The ADU videos seem to agree with the methods discussed in this non-co2 forum.

I have an old Arcadia Arc 35l tank (Height 33cm x Depth 28cm x Width 40cm) which I've just cleaned up to look brand new. Here's a list of the items I've bought...

    Power Sand (2l)

Aqua Soil Powder - Amazonia (9l - used about 4l)

Osmocote Plus - for root ferts

Aquaclear 20 - hang on back filter

    Biohome Ultimate

    Hydor Koralia Nano 900

    Tweezers, scissors etc.

    Arcadia Classica Stretch LED 300mm

ADA Kei stones - for hardscape

The tank is a bit deep for its size so I've put quite a lot of soil in to compensate for the height. Is this OK? Would upload some pics but guess I need a few more posts before I can do that.

Anyway, I've started cycling the tank - I understand the AquaSoil leeches ammonia and needs cycling before the plants can be added. I'll start testing the water in a week or so. I'll post some updates over the coming weeks and start doing photos when I can.

But in the meantime I'd appreciate some feedback on decisions made up to this point?
