Hi

I want to buy some Lileaopsis brasiliensis to fill my father's non co2 tank. But does it thrive well under very low light (4x 36w,no reflectors over 450 liters)? I assume it will just stay put?

Cheers,
Gilles

I have this growing under 30-40 mmol non CO2 just fine. Only problem I have is my festivums keep pulling it out! But that's a whole different discussion. :) With the low light, it will grow very slowly as well.

A few questions if I will...

1. Do you know how many mmol there is on the tank?
2. How deep is the tank?

You're at roughly 120 gallons of water. If it's very deep, I would say that may not be enough light.

I have two 32 W T-8 about 23 in above the substrate with my count. My lights are regular shop lights from the local hardware store. They didn't have reflectors, so I used aluminum taping to give me some sort of reflection. Maybe that gives you an idea. :) I've seen your other thread, so I'm sure you're very resourceful.

It does well under low light, just a little slow growing. Time flies fast and it will eventually form a nice patch.
